Your First Visit – What to Expect

Hello! I’m Dr. Gene Fish from Genesis Chiropractic Clinic. I’m looking forward to your first visit with us.

If you’re seeing this post, you must have scheduled an appointment as a new patient. I wanted to take a moment just to share with you what to expect and how our office works…and hopefully make you a bit more comfortable coming in here.

I’m sure you have all had the experience – I have – of going in to a new office and not knowing what to expect…on top of that you most likely have some sort of health challenge that is impacting your life. Maybe I’m your first stop…but maybe you’ve been through the ringer and are apprehensive trying a new doctor.

Over the years I’ve learned and developed systems to get better and better results for our patients.

So here’s how it works:

We start with gathering information about you. I have carefully designed a questionnaire to learn about your health picture. I know paper-work is not fun but sometimes little details go a long way to help me cater treatment to you.

So when you come in, will sit down together and discuss your unique health challenges and goals. I’ll try to get to the bottom of what may have caused your problem and get clues to the solution.

Then I’ll evaluate your spine. I’ll be especially looking for any areas that are stuck or not moving properly. Based on that, we will likely do an advanced form of x-ray called Motion Study X-Ray. This allows me not only to see what your spine looks like, but also how it looks and functions when you are moving.

So that will be your first visit.

It takes me 10, 15 minutes to run your x-rays through the computer and evaluate them. Then combined with what your goals are, I’ll draw up a plan for you. So on your second visit, I’ll sit down and explain what I found, what I can do, what I can’t do, how long it will take, and answer any questions. Then as soon as you are comfortable with everything, we will start with treatment to fix your problems and take your health to the next level.
